2017 Mike Hogg Award and Lecture

The annual Mike Hogg Award lecture series began during the tenure of MD Anderson's first president, R. Lee Clark, M.D. The event is underwritten by the Mike Hogg Fund and hosted by the MD Anderson Alumni & Faculty Association. Nobel Prize recipients who continue to be active in research are awarded and are invited to deliver a lecture as part of the award.

The 2017 recipient, Roger D. Kornberg, Ph.D., is the son of the inaugural recipient of the Mike Hogg Award, Arthur Kornberg, M.D., who was awarded in 1959. Kornberg will discuss his work in the lecture "The Molecular Basis of Eukaryotic Transcription."

Speaker Bio: Roger D. Kornberg, Ph.D., 2006 Nobel Prize recipient in chemistry, is the Winzer Professor in Medicine and a professor of structural biology at Stanford University.
