"Adolescents and Young Adults: Cancer Treatment for the Facebook Generation" - Transdisciplinary Rounds

They don't want to be treated like children, but they don't have the years of experience that most adult cancer patients have. Adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients and survivors face unique challenges when undergoing cancer treatment and adjusting to life after cancer.

Anna Franklin, M.D., medical director of the Children's Cancer Hospital's AYA Program, is the keynote speaker and will discuss the clinical aspects of caring for AYA patients.

A panel of AYA patients, survivors and experts will also discuss their first-hand experiences with attendees and share what AYA resources currently exist at M. D. Anderson.
