Speaker: Dr. Jian Gu
Speaker Bio: Dr. Gu obtained his PhD degree in molecular biology from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and did his post-doctoral training in gene therapy in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was the inaugural MD Anderson Odyssey Fellow, which is a prestigious post-doctoral fellowship at MD Anderson. He then joined the Department of Epidemiology and is currently a tenured associate professor. He has published over 140 peer-reviewed papers in many top-tier journals. He has reviewed grants for many U.S. (National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense, and American Cancer Society) and international funding agencies (European Union, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Qatar, and Hong Kong) and reviewed manuscripts for about 50 international journals.
