Speaker Bio: Dr. McAllister has established a translational program focused on immunoprevention and immunotherapies for pancreatic cancer. She is an expert in tumor Immunology having participated in key discoveries in T Helpers17 (TH17) cells biology, including the characterization of the epithelial IL-17 signaling pathway, the dissection of the role of IL-17 pathway in cystic fibrosis and the discovery of the key role of TH17 in the initiation and promotion of colon and pancreatic tumors. Dr. McAllister’s laboratory at MD Anderson focuses on understanding the very early epithelial and immunological events surrounding cancer development. Ultimately, this knowledge will inform us on how to build novel efficient strategies for cancer prevention and treatment.
