Contemporary Methods for Functional Success After Head and Neck Cancer: The MD Anderson Approach
This intensive educational course will offer advanced lectures that will familiarize participants with all aspects of management of the patient with head and neck cancer. The course will be given by world-recognized MD Anderson Cancer Center faculty and staff. Contemporary methods of surgical and non-surgical treatment modalities will be highlighted as they relate to the functional outcomes of patients with head and neck cancer. This two-day course will describe treatment modalities including surgery and reconstruction, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and their impact on speech and swallowing outcomes. Panel discussions will highlight treatment alternatives and controversies related to presented topics. Special topics in the area of speech and swallowing outcomes will help participants integrate and apply key information to be able to successfully evaluate and treat patients with head and neck cancer.
