Speaker: Dr. Mariana Chavez Mac Gregor
Speaker Bio: Dr. Chavez Mac Gregor is a breast medical oncologist with strong interest in outcomes research. She obtained her medical degree from Facultad de Medicina at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico, she then performed post graduate studies at the Netherlands Institute of Health and Sciences where she obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology. She completed her Clinical Residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine and a Clinical Fellowship in Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer. Dr. Chavez Mac Gregor holds a primary appointment in the Health Services Research department, and a joint appointment in the Breast Medical Oncology department. Her research interests focus on outcomes and disparities research, evaluating patterns of care and understanding the long-term effects of therapy. Clinically, she cares exclusively for patients with breast cancer, she is committed to improving the outcomes of her patients while preserving their quality of life and providing evidence-based, research-driven compassionate care, she has a strong interest in the care of patients with metastatic disease and high risk patients and is involved in clinical trials evaluating new treatments, she leads a large phase III adjuvant trial for hormone receptor positive patients.
