Understanding the function of brain circuits is a fundamental problem that lies at the very core of neuroscience. Over the past 10 years, new technologies and computational tools have made possible the transition toward modern large-scale recording and data analysis methods. With these new tools in hand, understanding how the brain generates adaptive behavior by predicting, interpreting, and responding in a complex environment has gained a renewed significance. This workshop brings together UTHealth investigators using innovative techniques in a variety of model systems. The goal of the workshop is to demonstrate how cutting edge technologies to examine brain circuits can be used to understand the relationship between neural circuit structure, function, and complex behavior.
