Komen: Race for the Cure
Don’t miss your chance to join your coworkers at the annual Komen Race for the Cure. The first 200 MD Anderson team members to register will receive a FREE MD Anderson t-shirt!
It’ll be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Sam Houston Park- Downtown. Opening ceremonies begin at 7:45 a.m., but the walking and running events begin at 8:00 a.m.
Help promote breast cancer awareness, research and treatment by participating in the annual Komen Houston Race for the Cure event. MD Anderson is a Gold Level sponsor this year and all employees, as well as their friends and family members, are encouraged to join our team. Proceeds from the event benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization

The deadline for online registration is Friday, Sept. 28, at noon but you can register via mail or in person until the day of the event. View the Komen Houston Frequently Asked Questions http://komen-houston.org/race/komen-houston-race-for-the-cure-faqs/ for more details.
Fundraising isn’t required, but all participants will have to pay their own registration fees. Fees range from $20 to $50, depending on the type of registration you choose. Register Today
To register online, visit MD Anderson’s registration page http://rfch.convio.net/site/TR/Race/General/434985868?pg=team&fr_id=1160&team_id=49409&JServSessionIdr004=508a9ru3u1.app244a
and follow these steps:
1. Click “Join Team” (located on the left inside the MD Anderson box). Remember that you’re not required to make a donation so you don’t have to complete that field.
2. After you click “Join Team,” you’ll be asked to “Choose Your Participation Type.”
3. Near the end of that page, you’ll see a question about an individual fundraising goal with a preset amount. MD Anderson employees are not required to raise money for this event. You can ignore this question, go to the bottom of the page and keep clicking on “Next Step” until your registration is complete.
Online registration is preferred by the Komen Houston event organizers, but you can also register via mail or in person for an additional $5. View the Komen Houston Frequently Asked Questions http://komen-houston.org/race/komen-houston-race-for-the-cure-faqs/ for more details.
