Speaker: Dr. Lisa Barbera
Speaker Bio: Dr. Lisa Barbera is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Radiation Oncology. She is a Senior Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute with an Adjunct appointment at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. Clinically, Dr. Barbera cares for women with gynecologic cancer. Academically, Dr. Barbera is a health services researcher and her interests are in patient reported outcomes, palliative care, gynecologic oncology and sexuality in female cancer survivors. She has published extensively on health service use at the end of life in cancer patients. She has also published numerous manuscripts which link administrative health care data to a unique patient reported outcome dataset which captures Ontario cancer patient symptoms and performance status. In 2015 she became the inaugural Provincial Lead of the Patient Reported Outcome Program at Cancer Care Ontario. She is here today to speak more about the Patient Reported Outcome program at CCO and her related research.
