After attending this activity, the target audience of Physicians of Anesthesiology & PeriOperative Medicine, Surgical Oncology, and Baylor and UT-Houston Anesthesia Residents and Faculty , Anesthesia Technicians, CRNAs, Student Nurse Anesthetists should be able to:
 
  • Implement new approaches to the Enhanced After Surgery principles to evolve with the changing pattern of perioperative healthcare, which is an emerging specialty that encompasses the whole continuum of the surgical experience for more meaningful patient-centric care (knowledge, competence, performance, outcomes);
  • Incorporate ways to remain relevant in the field as we head into changing policy environments through ongoing re-evaluation and modification as new evidence emerges (knowledge, competence, performance, outcomes);
  • Provide sub-specialty teams in the OR with appropriate political, structural, and regulatory updates (knowledge, competence, performance, outcomes);
  • Develop a structured approach to educate new providers with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism required for clinical excellence; ie, measuring determinants of factors related to career satisfaction through didactic discussions/workshops (knowledge, competence, performance, outcomes);
  • Assimilate approved transfer of care or hand-off techniques from the Operating Room to the PostOperative Anesthesia Care Unit to ensure a decrease in errors and improve patient safety (knowledge, competence, performance, outcomes).
