Speaker Bio: Leaf Huang, Ph.D., Fred Eshelman Distinguished Professor, Division of Molecular Pharmaceutics in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy, UNC at Chapel Hill, conducts research in the area of gene therapy and targeted drug delivery. He pioneered the liposome non-viral and cationic lipid vectors for the first non-viral clinical trials. Currently, his focus is on nanoparticle vectors for gene transfer in treating cancer and infectious diseases. In 2004, he received the Alec D. Bangham MD FRS Achievement Award. His H-index is 79, as the author of 320+ peer-reviewed papers and 130+ reviews and book chapters.
