Targeted & Immunotherapy: The New Era in Cancer Management

Targeted & Immunotherapy: The New Era in Cancer Management

In recent time, there has been a paradigm shift in the management of patients with advanced cancers from “one size fits all” to providing personalized therapy tailored to the molecular landscape of the tumor. This has led to breakthrough discoveries of immune checkpoints and durable responses observed with immunotherapeutic and target agents. This transformation has led to regulatory approval of several checkpoint inhibitors and targets for specific cancer types.  These new drugs are currently mostly used in Teaching and /or Tertiary institutions.

This 2-Day Seminar is an effort to transfer information from clinical research to the community practice. The focus is Immunotherapy and Targeted therapy in the management of advanced cancers (Solid and Liquid). It is geared towards educating clinical oncologists, researchers, community oncology related practitioners, those who deal with patients on these drugs as primary care physicians, nurses, pharmacists, emergency clinicians, physician assistants, etc., and institutions about the application of these drugs; monitoring of response to therapy in patients on these drugs, and managing the adverse events arising from their use.  Participants will also learn the pathophysiology of the drugs, and proper prescribing and indications for use.
