The Brian Logan Trombone Choir
Brian Logan brings his unique trombone choir to perform at MD Anderson during each holiday season. Comprised of professional musicians and students, this one-of-a-kind group brings a big brass sound to Alkek Lobby!
Brian Logan, Trombone, performs extensively with the Houston Symphony Orchestra and is also Principal Trombone of the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra and Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, San Antonio Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra, Victoria Symphony, Mid-Texas Symphony, The Woodlands Symphony and across Mexico and Europe. During the summer months, Brian has been a Tanglewood Music Center Fellow and has also participated in the Aspen, Breckenridge and Texas Music Festivals.
He has been a featured soloist with the National Repertory Orchestra and was the winner of the 2002 Cynthia Woods Mitchell and 1998 Moores School of Music Concerto Competitions. Brian has also performed with The Eagles, Randy Travis, Burt Bacharach, Bernadette Peters, Michael Bolton, Pink Martini, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and Rockapella.
Brian is also very passionate about his private studio of students. Since 1999 he has had students qualify for the TMEA All-State Band/Orchestra 18 times including having a student sit 1st chair All-State six times. Currently, Brian has former students that are on scholarship at The Juilliard School, University of Texas at Austin, University of North Texas, Baylor University, University of Houston, and Sam Houston State University.
