The Stadtler Lecture Series - Dr. Leroy Hood

This is the 58th Stadtler Lecture and is hosted by The Department of Systems Biology. This lectureship is widely acknowledged as one of the premier lectureships within the Texas Medical Center and was established by and endowment from Robert and Esther Stadtler to bring distinguished scientists to our campus that work on fundamental problems in biology.

Speaker: Dr. Leroy Hood
Speaker Bio: Dr. Hood is the President and Co-founder of the Institute for Systems Biology and has made many seminal discoveries in the fields of immunology, neurobiology and biotechnology. He is a leader in the development of systems biology, its applications to cancer, neurodegenerative disease, and the linkage of systems biology to personalized medicine. In additional to his groundbreaking research, Dr. Hood has published 750 papers, received 36 patents, 17 honorary degrees and more than 100 awards and honors. He is one of only 15 individuals elected to all three National Academies - the National Academy of Science, the National Academy of Engineering, and the Institute of Medicine.
