Speaker Bio: Sabine Werner obtained her Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany, in the group of Peter Hans Hofschneider. Subsequently she was a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Lewis T. Williams at the University of California, San Francisco, USA, before returning to Martinsried as a group leader. Since 1999, she has been Professor of Cell Biology at the ETH Zürich. Her laboratory studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms of wound repair and liver regeneration, with particular emphasis on the parallels to cancer
