Li Zhang specializes in the application of computational biology and biophysics to bioinformatics in cancer research. Before joining the faculty at M. D. Anderson, Dr. Zhang served as a senior scientist and bioinformatics project leader for neurologic studies at the Ernest Gallo Clinic and Research Center at the University of California at San Francisco. He began his postdoctoral research in the Laboratory of Computational Biology and Biophysics at the Scripps Research Institute, following graduate research work in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and in the Biophysics Program at the University of Minnesota.
