Research
Interests:
Dr. Lin Ji's research
interests include: development of novel viral and non-viral vector systems
for efficiently delivering therapeutical genes in vitro and in vivo
for cancer gene therapy; study of functions and mechanisms of tumor
suppressor genes such as p53, FHIT and cell regulatory genes such as
Bak, Bax in carcinogenesis and in pathways of signal transduction, cell
proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle processes in human cancers;
functional characterization of newly isolated putative tumor suppressor
genes in human chromosome 3p region; and study of combined effects of
anticancer drugs, recombinant adenoviral vectors of tumor suppressor
genes, and radiation therapy on growth of human tumors and tumor-derived
cell lines in vitro and in vivo. Our goal is to translate these studies
into development of diagonostical tools and theraputical agents for
human cancers.
