FDA - Buying Medicine & Medical Products Online
  Tips from the FDA on what to look for when purchasing medications, diagnostic tests, contact lenses and medical devices via the Internet. This site has rich content and offers sound advice.
FDA - Drug Information
  Information here is from the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research and covers numerous topics related to the use and approval of drugs. Topics include new prescription drug approvals, prescription drug information, major drug information pages, consumer drug information, over-the-counter drug information, drug safety and side effects, and public health alerts.
FDA - MedWatch
  This is the FDA's safety information and adverse event reporting program. There is safety information and alerts for drugs, biologics, devices and dietary supplements. There is also a mechanism for users to report problems with any medical product.
MEDLINEplus: Drug Information
  A guide to more than 9,000 prescription and over-the-counter medications provided by the United States Pharmacopoeia(USP) in the USP DI® Advice for the Patient®. Information can be retrieved by searching or browsing the alphabetical index.
MICROMEDEX
  (access from UT M. D. Anderson work stations only) - Using this system you can search for summaries and detailed monographs on drugs, alternative medicine, toxicological management, reproductive risks, and acute/emergency care. The Micromedex system is comprised of 30 different databases which can be searched individually or in groups.
National Library of Medicine - Drug Information Portal
  The new NLM Drug Information Portal enables simultaneous searching for drug information from various government agencies including the NLM, FDA and CDC. More than 12,000 drugs can be searched from the time they are entered into clinical trials (Clinicaltrials.gov) through their entry in the marketplace (Drugs@FDA). The search will retrieve scientific articles through PubMed, toxicology literature through TOXLINE, and chemical structure information through PubChem. Additional resources such as MedlinePlus provide easy to read patient-oriented summaries on the uses and efficacy of a drug. JavaScript must be enabled in your browser for th portal to work properly.

  This activity of the World Health Organization promotes the access and rational use of drugs in developing countries by formulating policy and providing information relevant to this problem.
WHO Health Technology & Pharmaceuticals Cluster
  This site provides information about WHO initiatives in making drugs and other medical products and devices available to developing countries.
