Reading current journals on your iPad is easier than ever. The apps below allow you to customize your reading list and read articles both on-campus and off-campus. The library’s tablet page allows you to access current journals on any platform, iOS, Android or Blackberry.
Read by QxMD - (iOS only, Free). Download the app, create an account, and select UT MD Anderson as your institution. Choose which journals you are interested in following. You can access current journal articles both on-campus and off-campus. To set up remote access, go to the settings and tap “Edit Proxy”. From there you can select “Automatic Login Using Remote Access Login”. Enter your username and password into the Account Details section. This is the same username and password you use for your desktop at work.
DocWise - (iOS only, Free). As with Read by QxMD, you can create a list of journals you wish to follow regularly. Start by downloading the app and creating a free account. To access articles off-campus, open the app and go to settings. Under Settings, you can choose UT MD Anderson Cancer Center as your Institution. This will prompt you to log in the first time you access an article, but will give you full-text access to all of our current journal subscriptions.
Library Tablet Site - (Available on all platforms, Free). Don’t own an iPad? No problem! Bookmark the tablet site and access the current journals and resources listed under each subject category. This is the only way you can freely access UpToDate on any mobile device, including iOS devices. Also available on this site: Clinical Pharmacology Online, Lexi-Comp, Micromedex and more. To access this site off-campus, go to the page, click on the off-campus login button, and log in using the same username and password you use for your desktop at work.
