PubMed Reaches 20 Million Citations
The National Library of Medicine announced that it has expanded PubMed to include citations to articles published back to 1947. With this increased coverage, PubMed now contains over 20 million citations to the biomedical literature. Access to older literature is vital for many research questions and this new indexing makes it easier to find information on the history of cancer research. All PubMed citations are linked to the Research Medical Library online and print journal holdings through the “Find It” button.

The Cochrane Library Unveils New Journal Club Resource
The Cochrane Library is the premier evidence-based resource for systematic reviews and they have updated their search interface and added a new Cochrane Journal Club publication. The Cochrane Journal club introduces a recent systematic review, provides background information, a podcast of key points, PowerPoint slides, and discussion questions to explore the methods in more detail.
Two of the recent issues are cancer-related:
- Reducing uncertainties about the effects of chemoradiotherapy for cervical cancer: individual patient data meta-analysis. Clinical Version | Methodological Version
- Surgical excision margins for primary cutaneous melanoma. Clinical Version
