Citing articles may be from the same journal; most citing articles are from different journals.

The journal Cancer Cell has a 2009 Impact Factor of 25.288. This Impact Factor was calculated by first determining the total number of citations in 2009 to articles published in Cancer Cell in 2007 (2,263 citations) and 2008 (1,682 citations) and then dividing that sum (3,945 citations) by the total number of citable articles published in Cancer Cell during 2007 and 2008 (156 articles).

CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians is the top journal of the 6500+ journals tracked by Journal Citation Reports.  New to the top-twenty list of Oncology journals this year are Current Problems in Cancer, Journal of Pathology, and Annals of Oncology
