Cochrane Library

Description: Cochrane Reviews are systematic reviews of primary research in human health care and health policy. They investigate the effects of interventions for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. They also assess the accuracy of a diagnostic test for a given condition in a specific patient group and setting.

DynaMed

Description: DynaMed is a point-of-care reference tool designed to provide doctors and medical researchers with the best available evidence to support clinical decision-making. DynaMed provides clinically-organized summaries for nearly 2000 topics. Summaries are organized both alphabetically and by category. DynaMed is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals directly and indirectly by using ten journal review services. Each publication is reviewed cover-to-cover, and each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity using a rigorous 7-step protocol. First, register for Skyscape. Next, obtain a DynaMed serial number from the Research Medical Library.

Epocrates

Description: Collection of PDA software solutions. Includes Epocrates Essentials, an all-in-one guide to diseases, drugs, labs, and diagnostics. Available for free are MobileCME, MedTools, Mobile Resource Center and Rx.

Epocrates Essentials requires annual subscription fee.

Indent-A-Drug

Description: Ident-A-Drug provides quick accurate identification of oral tablets and capsules used in North America by the identification code imprinted on all medications, and includes NDC numbers, manufacturers, use and doses. The Ident-a-Drug Database also gives the national drug code (NDC #) as well as the drug class.

Description: Based on the trusted Physicians’ Desk Reference PDR, mobilePDR is an authoritative source for FDA-approved drug labeling information. Download in the Apple app store.

mobilePDR is free to all valid U.S. based MDs, Dos, NPs and Pas in full-time patient practice. It does require a DEA or NPI number to register.

ONS PEP Symptom Management

Description: Based on the popular ONS PEP® (Putting Evidence Into Practice) Resources, the new ONS PEP apps help you keep the information with you while you're with your patients. Discover evidence-based interventions for symptom management of cancer and its treatments. Interventions can be incorporated into telephone triage, policies and procedures, quality/performance improvement activities, and standards of care and order sets.
