hen current and former patients need to escape from the rigors of dealing with cancer, they often find the Place...of wellness to be a perfect destination.

Since opening in September, more than 2,700 people have visited the Place...of wellness, which provides complementary and expressive programs to cancer patients and their families, as well as caregivers. It’s open to all cancer patients regardless of where they receive treatment.

The center offers more than 55 scheduled activities a month, including nutrition classes and healthy cooking demonstrations; yoga, tai chi and flexibility classes; guided imagery and stress management; counseling and support groups; and journaling, art, music and humor sessions. It also provides ongoing opportunities for meditation, listening to tapes and networking.
