Breast cancer has two main types: ductal carcinoma and lobular carcinoma. These two types of breast cancer present and behave differently but they are treated the same way. Sharon Giordano, M.D., professor in Breast Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and chair of Health Services Research, discusses the differences between ductal and lobular carcinomas including in situ (noninvasive) cases.
