Social, environmental, lifestyle, and behavioral elements play a significant role in contributing to cancer risk, especially in many minority populations. Lorna McNeill, Ph.D. is the principle investigator of Project CHURCH (African American Cancer Prevention Project Establishing a Cohort to Investigate Health Disparities). Dr. McNeill discusses her investigation among a church-based sampling of African-American participants, what she hopes to accomplish, and future opportunities for other community based minority organizations.
