Cancer Newsline News in Ovarian Cancer Research – CNL
This week in the New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Anil Sood and colleagues report that the presence of two proteins in a woman's ovarian cancer tumor are strongly associated with her likelihood of survival. The two proteins – called Dicer and Drosha (long o) – are crucial to a cell's machinery that silences genes. And the team found that the strength of their presence in a tumor also affects survival in breast and lung cancer patients.
