Blood-forming Stem Cell Transplantation for Cancer Patients – CNL
Richard Champlin, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, discusses the blood-forming stem cell transplantation process and how it has been a life-saving treatment for many cancer patients. It is no longer necessary to extract these stem cells directly from the bone marrow, and is much less painful for the donor. Dr. Champlin also explains the National Marrow Donor Program and how to register.
