Fellows
A fellowship is an important part of the physician training process. Leukemia Department fellows work closely with attending physicians and other team members, contributing their skills to the team while training to sub-specialize in oncology.
After completing medical school and 3-year residencies in internal medicine, fellows join the Leukemia Department team to begin their specialization. While under close supervision by the attending physician, they examine patients, determine treatments, and prescribe medication. They also confer with other team members and assign responsibilities. With fellows as part of our team, patients benefit from more intensive care, and the team benefits from their skills and knowledge.
