|
The program is sponsored by The University
of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center (UTMDACC) Department of
Allied Health Education Programs and supported by the Department
of Radiation Physics within the Division of Radiation Oncology.
The Division's clinical, office and research facilities occupy
over 50,000 sq. ft., of which 7,000 sq. ft. are used for treatment
rooms.
UTMDACC is one of the largest cancer centers in the world; the
Department of Radiation Oncology treats more than 3,200 new
patients annually. The Program utilizes these resources to enhance
the students' professional educational experience, both didactically
and clinically.
The Education Committee of the American Association of Medical
Dosimetrists (AAMD) recognizes this educational program as a
formal education program in medical dosimetry. The curriculum
meets or exceeds the recommendations of the AAMD Education Committee.
