Department of Biostatistics
Data Analysis
- Consultation with researchers to fully understand the goal of a study
- Determination of the appropriate statistical analysis methods to
be used given a particular data set
- Normalization of microarray data
- Analysis of differential gene expression data from microarray images
- Selection of statistical software that is appropriate for the
analytical task at hand
- Descriptive analysis including graphs and charts that may be used to present
information
- Presentation of results verbally, graphically, or in the form of a report
- Input, when needed, on the statistical section of the research manuscript
Biostatistical consultation is sought for therapeutic,
diagnostic, prevention and intervention studies within M. D.
