Li-Fraumeni
Syndrome is a rare inherited disorder (germline mutations of the
p53 tumor-suppressor gene have been identified in families with
this syndrome) characterized by susceptibility to breast cancer,
sarcomas of soft-tissue and bone, brain tumors and other neoplasms
(4). In addition to a genetic predisposition other factors postulated
in the etiology of soft-tissue sarcomas include trauma, burns, chemical
carcinogens and radiation therapy.
