2009 MC and G&D Joint Retreat Registration
JOINT RETREAT ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Abstract Submission Deadline: August 15, 2009
Please submit one electronic copy and one hard copy of your abstract. The hard copy is needed because your PI's signature is required. All students are expected to present a poster unless they are selected to give a platform presentation.
- Electronic Copy: Attach your abstract file (Word format only) at the bottom of this page, enter your name, select your submission category and press "Upload the file".
- Hard Copy: Give to Elisabeth (S12.8136B, Unit 1010) or Becky (SRA1.100, Unit 116).
Abstract Length: Maximum 300 words.
Abstract File Name: Please use this naming convention: lastname_firstname_Oct09.
Abstract Formatting Instructions (MS Word Only)
Please follow these instructions carefully; see sample below.
- Set Margins: Top 1. 5", Bottom 1.5" Left 1.25", Right 1.25".
- Font: Arial, 11 point.
- Justification: Justify all margins.
- Abstract Title: Upper and lower case, in bold. Indent 1/2 inch to start title.
- Authors and Affiliation: Continue on same line as title; no bold; underline presenting author's name.
- Line Spacing: All single spaced except for the double space between affiliation and start of abstract.
- Paragraph Indents: Indent first line of each paragraph 1/2 inch.

The text of your abstract starts here. Use indent for new paragraphs, but do not insert space between paragraphs.
Do not skip a line between the title, authors and affiliations. The name of the presenting author should be underlined
