M.D. Anderson's reputation attracts experts in
all fields to the Hospital; therefore, the faculty members possess
an unparalleled level of knowledge and technical expertise.
One of the programs' strongest resources resides within its faculty,
which is comprised of extremely enthusiastic educators as well as
practitioners of histologic techniques. All the faculty bring to
the program experience in research, teaching, technical and administrative
abilities, which ultimately enhance the quality of instruction for
the students. The faculty consists of those individuals who are
supervisors of the individual laboratories that the students rotate
through and participate in the education and evaluation of the student's
achievements while under their supervision. Enough personnel are
scheduled for each diagnostic area to allow the faculty member to
devote ample time to the student and not affect patient care.
The histotechnicians who train the students are well experienced
in the field and are encouraged to attend appropriate workshops
and seminars to enhance their techniques and teaching skills.
