Summertime Is Here!

Summertime is here! As you can see, our newsletter has received a new name, one that we feel reflects the hope for the future that our readers share. We thank everyone who responded to our survey and offered suggestions for our "Name the Newsletter Contest." Inside you will find a summary of some topics that were suggested for future issues. Please feel free to continue sending in suggestions, personal stories, or questions that you would like to have included in upcoming newsletters.

In this issue, we focus on ways to help you lead a healthier and more active life. We address some of the issues faced after colon surgery. The need for colon surgery, either to treat a colorectal cancer or as preventive measure for people with multiple polyps, and the subsequent problems with bowel control is something that is faced by many people with inherited forms of colon cancer and polyposis. This issue also contains tips from bowel control experts on how to deal with common problems. Their most important recommendation is to not let embarrassment get in the way of seeking the information that will help you regain health bowel functioning. Show these articles to your doctor and find out what options are available to you.

We have also included tips on nutrition, summertime health information, and cool, easy recipes for those hot summer days. These suggestions will help ensure that you and your family have a fun and healthy summer.
