Senior Systems Analyst
The Research Medical Library at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has an opening for a Sr. Systems Analyst to support the installation and maintenance of library applications and computer hardware. This position will support the installation and maintenance of library applications and knowledge systems including digital archives, interlibrary loan, instructional technology, and identity management. The Sr. Systems Analyst is responsible for all library computer hardware and software as well as communication regarding system upgrades and systems status. This is a temporary contract position with a potential for long term employment.

Salary range
$80,000-$85,000/year

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A)
May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis or completed years of college on a one to one basis.
Required Experience
Five years experience performing the duties required of the position and/or working with the specific hardware and software in use in the library.
Preferred Qualifications
- MLS or MIS from an ALA-accredited institution or another relevant Master’s degree
- Experience with library systems and libraries.
- Proficiency with web scripting languages, APIs, and system interoperability including usability practices, web accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Demonstrated understanding of client/server environment, preferably with Microsoft Windows Server, and experience with software applications needed to administer application environments.
- Familiarity with basic network administration, preferably Microsoft Active Directory.
- Demonstrated proficiency and capabilities with personal computers and software and library-relevant information technology applications. Working knowledge of standard computer office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint or other productivity software.
- Familiarity with EZProxy and with image-based or text-based digital repositories (ContentDM, Digital Commons, etc.).
- Experience interacting with stakeholders outside of the library and able to respond effectively to changing needs and priorities.
